Renowned Bengali musician Shreya Ghoshal has announced the postponement of her upcoming concert in Kolkata- a part of "All Hearts Tour" in response to the recent rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The concert, which was originally scheduled to take place on September 14 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, has now been pushed to October, though a specific date has yet to be announced.
In a statement released on Saturday morning, Shreya expressed her shock and sorrow over the brutal incident that has shaken the city. "The recent brutal incident in Kolkata has deeply affected me. As a woman, I shudder at the brutality of the incident. It gives me goosebumps to think about the torture the victim had to endure," she wrote.
Reacting to this the BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya slammed Banerjee, saying, "The world is standing up and demanding justice, except Mamata Banerjee, who is still using WB Police to cover up the crime and put down dissent."
